This is a full-time position that pays $19.73/hr. Hours are 10:30 AM - 10:30 PM.
SUMMARY:
Primarily responsible for the answering, processing, and documenting of non-emergency phone calls from other agencies and appropriately handle their need. Ensures prompt, courteous service to patients, physicians, physician office staff and participating hospital departments by providing accurate and expedient scheduling He or she will assist in confirming schedules for transportation and calculating daily demands for service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure daily customer happiness
- Operates multiple telephone lines and technology platforms, i.e. websites, in a high volume environment to obtain all required patient transport request information
- Obtains and accurately enters patient data, type of service requested and medical history into the computer aided dispatch system
- Immediately answer assigned telephone lines in coordination with the Control Center Team
- Identify and re-route calls that require Emergency Medical Dispatch triage or assistance from another department
- Effectively tracks and/or documents all service interactions with customers within appropriate systems according to guidelines
- Responsible for maintaining a good working relationship with hospital and nursing home personnel, leadership staff, fellow associates and the general public
- Prepares computer-generated reports and other incidental and general information for Control Center Director as directed
- Attend trainings as required
- Ability to prepare detailed written reports when requested, meeting deadlines as communicated
- Assure that the work area is clean, equipped with all necessary material, and that the equipment is operating properly at the beginning and ending of each shift
- Develops and maintains behaviors of productivity, availability to customers, and adherence to work schedule
- Other roles and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record
- Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Must obtain and maintain a CPR certification
- The ability to think and act quickly in stressful situations
- Accurate, basic typing skills and computer operation knowledge, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Exceptional knowledge of all resources available, i.e. cross index, CAD, paging systems, phone system, radio transmitter equipment
- Must pass all Life EMS pre-employment requirements as outlined on the Conditional Offer of Employment Must complete specified Control Center orientation for Non-Emergency Call Taking
- Must be interviewed by the Director of Control Center or his/her designee
- Covid vaccination highly encouraged
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
